About Me

Hi, my name is Sarah Ludar-Smith. I am a full-time artist specialising in oil paintings on canvas and graphite pencil.  I have lived in and around Penrith, Cumbria all my life and the surrounding beauty of the Lake District has always influenced my work. Alongside my artwork I am an avid photographer and fell walker which allows me plenty of opportunity to collect reference pictures in the Lakes which I transform into stylised but realistic landscapes in my home studio.

Since a young age I have always loved being around animals as I have personally felt and witnessed the special connection between owners and their four-legged friends. As such I love using my secondary medium, graphite pencil, to create life-like recreations of animals and thoroughly enjoy working alongside clients to create stunning artwork of their beloved pets which they will cherish for a long time.
